Washing powder and eczema

My daughter suffers from eczema. What is the best anti-allergy washing powder/liquid to use. I need one that doesn't contain bleaches. Any info would be useful.

My daughter also has this problem and we did use Arial non biological until they stopped doing it, now use Arial biological that seems to be different although there is an Arial for sensitive skin but only in small packets. It may be a case of trial and error.

Fairy still claims to be the best for skin,if babys can use it surely anyone could!

Try www.greenshop.co.uk, they supply non-harsh detergents with less harsh chemicals. THe Baby Spring Laundry Liquid is excellent as my daughter has the same problem.

Give your washing machine a good clean out regularly just by turning it onto the hottest wash cycle, with no clothes in the machine and let it run its course. This should clear any leftover powder that end up in your rinse cycle and therefore your clothes rinse out the washing powder better afterwards. Becos washing detergent not rinsed out properly also is an irritant.

You can buy wash balls from lakeland and QVC these have little pebble type things in and contain no chemicals and give a really good clean. They cost about nine ponds for two and are brillant for sensitive skin. they last about 4-6 months x

Thanks for all your suggestions. Regarding the wash balls, is it obvious when they have run out? Can you add a tiny amount of washing liquid for freshness if needed. I assume the washing does not smell of anything when using the balls?

I use fairy non-bio, and no softener or anything as they're full of perfumes and I just turn red..

You can tell they have run out because the little balls inside shrink,but i have had mine for over 4 months and not had to replace yet.x

I have eczema the really bad on and what i use is Dove soap the one with no fragrance(white) and for lotion i use cetaphil moisturizing lotion ( green lable and says fragrance free non-comedogenic) you can get this from any store (Wal-mart). My doctor recomemded this to me and it really works. I get theh whole itchy dry flaky skin and this lotion and the dove soap do the work.
