This question is to people who are against abortion.
What are you reasons for being against someone having an abortion? I am interested in people who's reasons are something other than religion.
Why does it really matter to you what a stranger does?

I did not say that I consider her to be a child - it is the govenment who say you are officially still a child until you are 18 - if you re-read what I said you will see. To be honest though, her replies are very childish (name-calling etc.) and exactly what I would expect from a 17 year old with an immature mind (as she appears to have). You can almost hear her throwing a tantrum as she writes.
Full time education doesn't stop at 16 - what about A-levels and university? It is a choice to stop but don't you think most 16 year olds would be better off at least continuing until 18?
Before anyone else goes off on one - I am not calling 16/17 year-olds children - it is a fact of life that you become an 'adult' when you turn 18. I am aware that there are lots of people that age with a more grown-up attitude than others.
weeangel - "run away to gretna green". That statement says it all. Adults would not need to "run away" to get married.
Don't think I'll go with your idea of the new post about marriage at 16 as I'm really not that interested in it. After all - it's more sensible to do that than have a baby at 16 so I say good luck to them!
Abortions may cause future infertility due to post operative infection, but this is rare & a piece of propaganda used mainly by anti-abortionists ;o) secondary infertility can be caused by any kind of infection whether an abortion has been had or not ~ in fact, the main cause of secondary infertility is not known.
I have had an abortion (at 9 weeks). I won't go into why I had it, but it was for a very personal reason. I already had two children (& before those I had 2 miscarriages). Since the abortion I have gone on to have two more children, and fallen pregnant very easily.
From personal experience I can say that abortion was not an easy choice. I think about it quite a lot, but it doesn't rule my life as I feel I made the right decision ~ therefore I don't regret it. I do regret getting pregnant though, if that makes any sense.
