wearing womens underwear?
18 Answers
This is a serious question and I'd like advice quickly. A friends 12 year old son has been discovered by his mother wearing her and his older sisited underwear. I'm in the 'so what' frame of mind but would welcome any sensible views. ty

It's probably a comfort thing, or a phase but as Scarlett said, it's no big deal if it isn't. I would care not one jot if my son or partner wanted to wear womens undies. After all, I wear trousers, occasionally a mans shirt or boxers etc....equal clothing rights for all. I think making a big deal out of this to a 12 year old would do much more harm than just letting it go. I would maybe just ensure he had his own tho, as I could understand sis being slightly peeved at him borrowing hers.
If this was my child though, I would be concerned with other boys seeing that he's wearing his sisters underwear, and then being made fun of for all of eternity. That could be seriously scaring. So I would watch it, and maybe take the boy out to pick his own male underwear that he thinks is comfortable. A 12 year old is quite different then a 5 year old trying his sisters undies on. But maybe Im wrong.
but danceaolt, even if it's not experimentation and it's just something he enjoys....so what? There are hundreds of thousands of men out there who enjoy wearing womens undies. It does no one any harm, and if it feels good, why not? I'd have no prpblem with my partner wanting to wear nice soft pants. I'll say again - equal clothing rights. I'm 100% with Mr Izzard on that one. it may well be that this young boy just likes how they feel, and that's up to him. I don't think that he's liekly to suddenly forget that he's 12, and forget that other children will tease you for anything that's "different" to their perceived norm. That is to say, he's hardly going to get changed for PE with his sister's frilly pinks on, is he? The pants haven't made him stupid, just a little different.
Ok, I know everyone is going to attack me for this, and I am probably wrong. But I do think it is odd. It is possible that he may just enjoy the feeling of the underwear, and that is totally fine. But it is also possible for this to lead to a bigger problem in the future and as the parent I would just watch out for it, that's all. Just be aware of it.
Also he doesn't necessarily have to be changing in PE for people to see his undies. He could be at the urinal. And 12 year olds are very impressionable, and more sensitive then a 40 yr old male who enjoys wearing womens underwear.
