The ones I wanted rarely wanted me and vice versa. You're just in a dip, you'll find a way out of it I think! See what activities are around while you have the time to do them and you never know who will be there!
I'm in the "lucky you" category. to have you time to yourself.... lucky git.
I was up at 6 this morning with the kids... went to bed past midnight so i'm shattered!
but...
back on topic. Surely your married friends want to go out when they can. They're probably more desperate to get out away from the family then you!! can't you arrange a "girls night out" every other week on a regular?
Minxie, you've received quite a few answers but not many practical suggestions so far. Don't know where you live or what your interests are but there must be others who live in your area who find themselves in the same situation as you. Being a "single" at week-ends when most other friends are part of a couple isn't much fun so perhaps you could advertise in your local paper or a newsagents window to form a "Solitary Parents' Group" who get together for coffee, a meal, a ramble in a local beauty spot, or an occasional outing to the cinema together. Many supermarkets have a noticeboard for posting adverts of various kinds - perhaps you could cast your bread on the waters there and see what response you get. Sometimes there's a bit need out there for certain gaps to be filled and maybe there are more similar individuals out there like you than you realise. It just needs somebody to take the initiative and get something going.
