Thrush is best treated from the inside to get rid of it completely, so I would suggest eating the live yoghurt, 2-3 pots a day. Applying to the affected area will help the itching, but may not get rid of it completely. You need to be very careful of course, not to mix your pots up!. Also careful hygiene, wash with cool/tepid water at least twice a day, wear cotton underwear and avoid tight fitting trousers (pruming your thrush is in that area! Hope it goes soon.
I've never tried the yoghurt thing, and I have nothing against it in principle, but I find that the canniston combi works brilliantly. (the cream and the pessary). I'd suggest putting the pessary in at night and wearing a sanitary towel as it can be a bit messy, but it really does work. Use the cream during the day. Should go in a day or two.
I would buy the pessary alone from the pharmacy. I've found the cream to be totally bloody useless!
Another great tip is stuff called Bio Fem Actigel. It's a natural plant-based gel which normalises the pH of your vagina, thus making it more difficult for thrush to grow. It comes with a nozzle for easy application, and can be used at any time.
