8 pints would certainly do me in.
I like water and drink a fair amount but if you really cant stand it try putting fruit juice with it.
Also if the water is ice cold it doesnt get absorbed into the body as well as if it were room temp. So if you only drink a small amount try and make it room temp
I think its 2 litres a day of room temp water.
I have done this (with difficulity) for a few weeks now and the difference in my skin is amazing. I drink plain filtered water and not much else during the day.
Even after a few days of drinking water when you then taste a fizzy drink or cordial you can really taste the suger and its horrible. I can't stand fizzy drinks any more, they are just all gas and sugar.
Honestly although its hard going I promise you will see many benifits of drinking water.

As I understand it, this recommendation has been around since the 2nd World War, and has been misinterpreted since.
The recommendation was for a net water intake of 2 litres per day. Your net water intake includes all the water in everything you consume - including food and drinks other than water - but is lessened by diuretics such as coke, coffee and tea (you lose more water than you take in with some drinks).
Unless it's spread out evenly across the whole day, 2 litres of water makes most people a bit uncomfortable in my experience and isn't necessary.
Rather than trying to stick to rules, take not of your body. If your pee's dark and your skin feels tight, you need more water. It should be pretty much clear. If you're peeing a lot or you feel bloated or have headaches, slow down.
Drinking a load of water in one go is not much good. Small, regular amounts, at room temperature are best.
It's easy...one in the morning when you get up. One with breakfast. One mid - morning, one with your lunch - that's half....then one mid afternoon. One when you get home, one with your dinner..then one about an hour later. If you keep a 1.5 or 2 litre bottle with you all day, you can see your progress! Also don't drink too late or you'll be waking up in the middle of the night with kidney pains, from needing the loo!
