can anyone recommend a good mascara? I bought one by Maybelline the other day (the one with "style your lashes" in the ad) and it's cr*p! My lashes have never been so gloopy, clumpy and gunky. So disappointed!

I want thick black long dramatic lashes, but I certainly don't want to look like I have a couple of startled spiders on my face. It seems like there is a new mascara brought out every other week, why can't I find what I'm looking for?

Benefit - it only comes in black. The brush is huge so it takes a bit of getting used to but its never gloopy,

I love Mascara! Long may it live. For a cheapy I get on really well with a Maybelline one which is in a royal blue tube and has a u shaped brush (that's the only one I like from them though), for splurges Lancome one's are great (I like the ones called something like Flexintels and Definitels or something), and Clinique do a good range too - and the Clinique one's are not too badly priced - approx 12 with a wide selection depending on what kind of finish you would like. I have also happily used Christian Dior (they have a maximum volume one which is good), YSL (really liked it but the bottle dried quickly), Estee Lauder (was a no no for me) and the general high street ones.

If you want thick long dramatic lashes From my personal experience I would have a look at the Lancome Range if you have the cash (it costs about 17) - the Flexitals one I have used gives that effect. As does a Clinique one which is in a dark green tube (can't remember what it's called but it's the only dark green tube). If you're not 100% sure, I have found lately that Boots and the department stores are doing the deals on make up where if you get two items you get a goody bag free and I've ended up with a couple of mascara's, or if you spend x amount of cash you get something free, so you could look out for those.

Ahhhh, I just love talking about make up!

I just recently tried the new Max Factor one (sorry, can't remeber the name) the one with the plasticky 'brush'. I really liked the 'brush', it helped it go on very nicely, and did like at at first, but it went quite gloopy quickly and seemed to flake a bit and leave residue under eyes later on in the day. Brilliant applicator, not the best liquid. The other one I do like is the Bourjois Coup De Theatre, the white build volume end and the black mascara end. Very dramatic, and stays on well.

yeah soozmac, im using that and its crap. it makes my lashes look thinner can you believe it, its clumpy, spidery looking, messy and looks like you're using cheap crap. A good one is maybelline volume express, Benefit Bad Gal, Max Factor 2000 calorie, and Christain Dior but i find the more expensive ones are no more different than the cheaper ones. Maybelline great lash is also quite good. If you find your mascara clumpy brush over the top with an old clean mascara brush.

clinique high impact is the one you are thinking of. (i think)
Deffo Benefit Bad Gal. Someone on AB recommended it and I love it.
you cant go wrong with sky high lashes, i swear by it , no other mas can work wonders like that, thy go up, up and away!
