strong magnet toys...Are they safe?

My friends kids have bought a pair of magnets they are about 1 to 2 inches long and shaped like a torpedo , they are incredibly strong they will stick either side of an adults hand Im not sure if they are safe ..does anyone know? Thanks..

im not sure, but my kids ran a magnet all over the tv screen years ago and made the colours go weird so be careful.

Magnets that are very strong should be handled with care. Small children should not handle them. Older children can but ideally should be supervised at all times when handling them and certainly should not be ingested. They should be kept at least six to twelve inches away from computer hard drives, credit cards, computer monitors, and other susceptible electronic equipment. Individuals with pacemakers and other internal medical devices should not handle or come within close proximity of strong magnets. As as a general rule they should also be kept off airplanes.

My Grandson has these topedo shaped magnets, which are extremely powerful. Keep them well away from anything electrical

First chance you get, hide the damn things. He'll soon forget about them.

Consider an MRI scan- the magnet on that is powerful enough to grab an Oxygen cylinder if inadvetantly brough within the same room. A person is put into this field- all the water molecules are aligned- a further very strong magnetic field then flips them and the computer reads the signal as they flip back and constructs an image. Doesn't cause any problem to the body... so your little torpedo jobs shouldnt cause much aggro
