What, if anything, is too serious to be joked about, even in this day and age where everything seems to be acceptable subjects for discussion in some shape or form?

Paedophilia, the Holocaust and (my opinion) animal cruelty.
pedophiles,...if ever the devil walked on this earth it would be these ********!

Some people seem to be a little touchy about Mohammed jokes.

I don't like jokes about dead people, from the rich and famous to ordinary folk.
Cancer! Incest seems accetable at comedy clubs now, but I think cancer and the holocaust really do seem to be the last taboos.
Everyone is offended by every form of joke as someone is always made a 'joke' of. So really....is any form of joke acceptable. Depends who its about and what company you're in at the time.

anything to do with hurting children in any way, shape or form is unforgiveable.x

I think it's ok to make fun of people who are also able to make fun of themselves, or to make fun of something that you are experiencing yourself. However, I don't like jokes that make fun of people who can't defend themselves, or who can't possibly find anything remotely funny about their experience ( paedophilia, cancer, death of relatives...).

I've heard quite a few jokes about (for instance) Michael Jackson, and found some of them rather funny. I've never felt that doing so compromises my distaste for pedophilia. Can you people swear you wouldn't do the same?
I think Brass Eye proves that nothing is beyond parody. Almost all the topics suggested so far were made a joke of on Brass Eye. And bloody funny it was too!
Gary Glitter and ones involving kids like everyone I think, and terrorism, tsunami and anything sad and tragic. Always wondered why people have to try and make jokes about nasty stuff

Cancer is nothing to joke about,.. but when my momma had her brain tomur for the last year we joked to her about her studdering and sight loss at times when a joke seemed to fit in... I think the worst thing to ever joke about is the death of somebodys child... that is a total NO NO...

Nothing is too serious. The older you get, the more you realise that things just are the way they are.

You can't change things that have happened, and laughing at a well crafted joke about serious matters doesn't mean that you don't care about them.
