Brain Freeze

Why when Im drinking a slushy COLD drink does my brain get a striking pain? (brain freeze) What cause's brain freeze? How can something cold going into your tummy effect something in your brain to hurt?

I dont know Jennykins but it bloomin hurts !!! They taste great at the time though !!! I get it with ice cream too x

Aint got a clue what causes it, but..
when my bf told me about 'brain freezer' I called him a weirdo coz I'd never heard of it before, but he said I'm the odd ball as most people suffer from it.....so it looks like its 3 against 1 lol

I was gonna try and guess an answer then but I can't even make anything good up! Lol.. I was gonna try and sound all brainy and see if I could figure it out. Oh bums!

slooow, Try and take ice cream or a slushy drink and eat or drink it really fast... as fast as you can the hole thing.. and see if your brain gets a insane pain run through the front of it....

nopers... good teeth around here... The freeze doesnt hurt your mouth at all tho,... its weird.. My husband and son get it really bad also when we're all having something like ice cream... HAHA Rubyrose.. thats funny.. well maybe would should all give a theory and see who's sounds the best... lol

Jennykins thats how me n bf had the convo in the first place I was drinking a slush puppy & he couldn't understand why I wasn't getting 'brain freeze' I had never heard of it, thought it was just another of his little quirks lol

awe thats so cute sloow... Well I guess you know now that it's not just him.. that it hurts a bunch of us lol... YOUR SO LUCKY that you dont get brain freeze.. somebody was telling me tho.. that if you drink something hot or really warm while brain freeze is hurting that it takes it right away... ???

Jo I was going to make an obvious suggestion and say maybe you had no brain.. Lol. but if that were true then I wouldn't get brain freeze either.. Lol. ;o)

Brain Freeze....or Coldus Fook as its known in Latin is when the pit of the intestine reaches a certain temperature therefore sending signals to ones head alerting them that ones brain is about to explode

ok ok I got it..... We get brain when we are eating or drinking something very cold to fast because the body is over stimulated by the cold sending the brain a sort of pain so that it will stop letting us do what were doing....
