the pampered chef

Hi there you guys

Just wondering if anyone had been to a pampared chef party and if so, what was it like? What happened there? Or is any one a pampering chef and actually do the parties????

would like to find out more.

I've been to one!

Very similar to a Tupperware party although minus all the cheap plastic. The Pampered Chef rep will prepare a recipe using Pampered Chef kitchen equipment and then show you other various bits of kitchen paraphanalia and obviously try and palm you off with as much of it as possible.

It is nice stuff (assuming you're into your kitchen stuff) but it definitely isn't cheap!

(you do get to eat the food after though on the plus side)

umm, doesn't sound like I've missed much. I got invited to one to go to today, but hubby was delayed at work and so I couldn't go and now (especially after finding their www spot) I think I'm glad I didn't. I'm not that into kitchen stuff, frankly, I spend enough time in there, why would I want a hobby there too? and 17quid for a pair of tongues. No, I don't think so.

Thanks for your help, looks like I'm not going to be bowled over by any chefs pampered or not, and blyss, I should be a pampered chef too, but sadly, I'm an unpampered one.

Hi mimi - sorry I forgot to report on the party I went to last week! Well, it is as Miss-taken said - like Tupperware (and every other product party I've ever been to) - high pressure, well-rehearsed patter and a very contrived situation. I ended up buying something expensive that I don't need (because it was my friend's party). We ate some gross food that the consultant made and I had heartburn all night. You can buy some of the products from ebay as loads of people find they don't really use the gadgets.

But hey, don't let me put you off!!!

thanks for answering. Ididn't go to the party in the end for that reason: i looked on the interweb at the products and they were so over priced it was untrue and i didn't want to feel pressured into buying something jsut because it was her party.

thank you for posting, you have made me feel less guilty for not going to the party, hehehehehe!

Tupperware, on the hand, I'm quite partial to!!!!! ;-)
