Lets say you have a driveway, and a friend that has a bit of an oil leak. Would you let your friend park on the drive-way?

My car had a small oil leak and my best friends mother told me to park on the road. Well, I thought that was obsurd! They said they didn't want oil spots on their driveway. I would have understood better if they said they didn't want anyone tracking oil into their house, but they just want a clean looking driveway. Well, I think that's odd.

BOO ;) her car, her car had an oil leak :) lol
Nowt worse than oil on concrete, it's really tough to shift and if you've paid real money to have your driveway done, it's worth looking after. if you parked an oily leaky car on my drive I'd be livid!

sorry lol, for belittling your post- yes I knew what you meant, I was just being daft.

And yep, in answer to your post it is absurd, do they put polythene covers on their sofas to make sure you dont mucky them as well?

I disagree Boo, oil is a contamination! It's a ****** to shift, accidental leakage is one thing, but if you know your big end has gone it's just careless.
Well Im not one to judge.

Oh well yes I am actually.

Be friends with them no more.

Blonde moment by B00 there, I wouldn`t want anyone parking on my driveway with an oil leak, and I wouldn`t want them parking on the road outside my house,I`d ask them to park up the road...lol

Sorry dancealot13, but I agree with your friends mum!

Scrap it, oil - bad, clean nice laid driveway - goooood

yeh, sorry but got to agree with your mates mom!!

dance the nite away...........
Well, if I'd spent a lot of money having a new driveway installed or paying my monthly mortgage and your car had an oil leak, I wouldn't want you parking on my drive either and spoiling the look of my home either . Oil can be almost impossible to remove from any hard surface and I don't really understand why you think it's perfectly OK to damage somebody else's property, especially when it belongs to a friend.

We have those red bricks on the driveway and oil really shows up on them and we can never get it off!

So I wouldnt let anyone with an oil leak park on the driveway!

Wendy, I never ment to destroy anything. I just think its a tad anal to desire a perfectly "clean" driveway. Vehicles have road kill, dirt, stones, and grime on them....no matter how clean you think your car may be. So I just thought it was picky to ask someone to park on the road that has a small oil leak- Especially because Im only over there 3 times a year. I just don't let things like that bother me I guess. But to each their own, and I will respect their desire and park on the road if its not fixed.
