They might well be from another European country (customary in some countries to wear it on the other hand)

No it is because they are from other European Countries other than ours, germans use the third finger right hand for wedding bands,

Very true ...lots of the europeans wear their rings on the right hand ....I do.

In Germany that's the traditional thing.


However, some people start wearing it on their left now.
Why, I don't know!
