Vaccinations against diptheria, hepatitis A, tetanus and polio are not required but recommended; visitors to the Marmara or Black Sea coasts should consider anti-malaria precautions. Drink bottled water only and eat well-cooked food to avoid stomach upsets.

Speak to your GP for advice.
there is a government overseas travel helpline, the number for which should be in your travel brochure
I went there in October and I didnt have any,nor was I advised to.
I did when i went to Turkey 15years ago but i think it has changed since then because i've not known anyone have to have them recently. Your GP will tell you for sure.Have a great time, its a fabulous country.

im with ethel on this one..

have been twice but didnt get any of the prevevtative injections. would get them if i were to go again......

I agree to only drink bottled water whilst there.

I went to Marmaris around this time last year and I was advised by my GP to have vaccinations. See what your GP recommends and make sure that you find out how far in advance of your trip you need to have them done (as I seem to recall having to return 2 weeks later to have a second vaccination of one of them). And as has already been said....drink only bottled water whilst there.

I had a fab time in Marmaris and was hoping to go again this year but alas finances won't allow it :-( For day trips I can recommend a boat at the harbour called 'Kardelen'. Ask for Antonio and he will be able to book all kinds of trips for you without you paying the exhorbitant prices the travel reps charge. Tell him Tracy in England sent you and says hi! He is really sweet and very honest (unlike some others touting day trips) and I am still in email contact with him. Beware of the street corner places that sell day trips too. What you are told is not always what you get. We did all sorts but the Jeep Safari and the island trips on the Kardelen were fantastic. The boat trips only cost us around 10-12 a head with all food and drink included. Best time to catch Antonio on the Kardelen is early evening as the boat will be out from early morning. I hope you have a fantastic time.....and am I jealous or what!
