Although, having said that, how nice are you?! If my sis/ friend etc offered to cut mine 'for free' i would insist they take something - be it money or something else - because they were putting themself out FOR ME.
You little star! :0)
I agree with the others. I think it is mean for family not to offer you cash for your services! remember they have saved themselves a fortune..
Maybe you shouldn't do it this time, but in future make a point of telling everyone that you are 'in business' and are now charging for hairdressing. You have to make a living somehow :o)
Perhaps you could try and lightly drop into the usual hairdresser conversation how you've hammered your bank account and can't wait until the end of the month and then just let her conscience do the rest of the work.
If she's any way even half decent, she'll at least offer you something in return for the huge saving she makes. Even if she gave you half of what she would normally pay at a salon, she's done alright!
Think its a bl**dy cheek that she expects you to do it for free, if you get nothing from her this time, be permanently "busy" next time she needs a trim!
Also I think 10 is too much. If you are washing and cutting, that costs 8 in my local salon! Or 6.50 down the road! If you are doing posh stuff that's different.
You could maybe in future ask your Mum to spread the word that you will be offering a HOME service in addition to your job during the day, for 5. That way you get extra money, they get a bargain haircut- everyone is happy. But spread the word first....
