You may take umbrage at this reply, and for that I am sorry.
Unless you are a lower-class chav, with a common mockney accent and wear fake sportswear to the local "themed" pub, please do not even consider such an awful thing. There is about as much class in your suggestion as a daytrip to Margate with a girl called Mandy. Quite awful.
Yes it's your choice and that I respect, but surely the main reason of this egoistic vaingloriouness is for others to look at you. What about respect for them?
Further, you are probably young (I assume 26) but remember one day you will be old and the body starts drooping in places. Your "big cat" tattoo will soon erode into what may appear to be a Golden Retriever or worse still a caricature of Boris Johnson.
Please reconsider. I have a small regimental tattoo, very well done by a true pro. I still hate it.
You may take umbrage at this reply and for that I am not particularly sorry.
You talk about respect yet you tarred all who have tattoos with the same brush, which was an incredibly ignorant thing to say. I am trying to see where would Winston Churchill or King George V stand in the chav culture, they wore tattoos.
Fair enough you dont like it and think it is stupid, but that is your opinion alone. The history and the culture of tattooing is so colourful and so full of character, that to narrow it all down to egoistic vaingloriouness (interesting word btw) is particularly benighted.
What do you care what his body is gonna look like later on in his life, its not as if you gonna sleep in the same bed. If he grows to regret it then you can give him lessons on how to cope with that decision. Otherwise it has nothing to do with what you or anyone else thinks. Respect doesnt apply in this case.
You cant please everyone. There will always be someone who doesnt understand you or doesnt like you or what you do. Life wouldnt be worth living if we limited ourselves because of those people. Art would not develop. Music genres wouldnt grow. Architecture would be homogenous. Fashion as such would not exist
Whatever you do dont rush it. It might take you a year to find someone who would do the right job, it might take longer. You might even find that after seeing all these designs it is not what you would really like. The main thing is dont rush.
Do you have any tattoos now? If it is your first, then be careful. You wouldnt want to start the tattoo and then find that you simply cant deal with the pain.
In any case all the best.

Splitting the atom, breaking the sound barrier, walking on the moon, tattooing animals. Indeed one of the hardest things there is??????
And if you really wanted to travel far to get one, you could go all the way to ................Germany. WOW.
Baller DON'T DO IT. I know this wasn't a thread on the pros/cons of having a tattoo but listen to reason.
However, if you fall into the lower echelons of our simple social structure then fine. I assume it's a class thing I will never truly understand.
The guy wants a tattoo. He doesn't want some right-wing narrow minded twit with all the knowledge of having and regretting some stupid army tattoo he got ten years ago harping on at him not to do it. Have you ever decided against an idea you've got your heart set on because someone came along ON THE INTERNET and told you not to? And what about your respect for others? Seems to be sorely lacking.
If you don't like something, don't get involved in it. e.g Stop posting on tattoo related threads: Nobody cares how much you hate tattoos, or what your prehistoric narrow-mindedness has led you to believe.
If he wants a big cat on him, I'm damn well sure he'll go and get one, and love it.
malaise due to a degree of ennui I have checked that there are infact 192 questions regarding tattoos and a combined answer rate of 367. I have posted on just two of them.
Please therefore can you explain why you have rudely stated that I post on EVERY tattoo related thread?
I know peasants exaggerate to a degree to better themselves, but really there is no need for such blatent untruths are there?
Or alternatively just sit back and enjoy the proceeds of your welfare cheques with the sweet taste of cheap plonk in your council flat with probably two illegimate children.
This is not "harping on", this is a gentle reminder that YOU CAN BETTER YOURSELF!
I am degree eduated, twice. I have no children and work hard for a living. My "ennui" does not induce internet searching in order to win a petty inter-argument. I have better things to do with my life. Clearly better things than yourself!
Toddle off now, dearest, back to your little military dreamland in your council flat, where you fantasise about superiority complexes. I've conducted a lot of research into personality disorders and psychopathy: You should have that looked into. I'm sure it's treatable.
P.S "If you don't have anything nice to say, don't say anything at all" e.g If you don't like tattoos, don't harp on about why others also shoudln't.
