And Even More Good News From Labour.

Hi all, just wanted to post a big thank you to everyone's suggestions about a reading for my Gramps funeral service next week.
Just to let you know I am now doing two readings (how did that happen?), one is the Dash (thanks Clown tickle) and the other is one called 'Grieve not for me', I think I found it on one of the websites recommended.
It was a very hard choice as they all had such lovely words, but my family wanted ones that looked forward, and weren't too sad, as its going to be a tough day on everyone. I'm just hoping I can get through them both now.
Its been a really difficult week and I know next week is going to be even harder, but I wanted to thank you all for your kind words. I appreciate it.

This may sound a bit macarb (sp?) but when i've been in a situation where i have to get through something but feel very emotional, as i'm reading I've dug my nail into my hand, somehow the pain of it holds off the tears for the short while just to get through it. I'm not suggesting self harming or anything, but a good trick if it works for you!! Best of luck again. EB x
Hi polo, Of course it will be hard, but your gramps would want you to look forward,I will give you some very wise words said to me by my grandad when he was in his 90s, he said" look forward, there is no future in the past" I know it wouldn't have been an original from him,but it was special, I often think of him and always will, each christmas i go to church and light a couple of candles for nan, grandad & my parents, tell them all the news, I then walk out of there feeling great & close to them at the same time,
have a great future,it is what he would want, and you have picked two lovely readings, Take care, Ray
Thank you all for your nice words.
I'm hoping to get through it by taking my time and trying to compose myself. I'm not a nervous person and I'm used to speaking in front of large groups, its just going to be the emotions on the day.
I had a run through yesterday and I've decided that I can't look at my mum or nan, so I'll have to look elsewhere to get through it.
ray - I'm glad I'm not the only one who still talks to relatives, I even introduced my husband to my grandparents grave! Your grandad sounded a very wise man.
Thanks to all for everything.
