I keep feeling nauseous after exercise. I dont do anything too strenuous, I do pilates and swimming once a week - does anyone know why I feel sick after everytime I exercise? Thanks x

perhaps there is a reflux problem, do you get like a heart burn also?
See? This is why exercise is bad for your health- pack it in immediately and eat cream cakes, I find this much more satisfying :-)

number of reason.

some may be beyond advice given on here so if in doubt see a GP. i.e if may be high, or indeed low, blood pressure. Or maybe low blood sugar levels.

Could be you are dehydrated. drink plenty of water prior, during and after the excercise.

Have you eaten enough carbohydrate to sustain the energy flow? i.e not on the god-awful Atkins I hope.

Maybe, thinking broadly, you haven't got an allergy to swimming pools?

Thanks for your answers guys -

No dot, dont think its anything related to heart burn as I dont suffer from that.

Yes Boo - cant resist a cream cake at the best of times, or chocolate, or crisps, or my personal favorite - a cup of tea and 1 or 2 (or 10) biscuits lol!

Ward-minter - no, not on any silly diets, I dont have a weight problem fortunately, just trying to get a bit fitter generally. Thinking about it, I did used to suffer from low blood sugar when I was younger so maybe you've hit the nail on the head there - thanks

Are you possibly exercising too soon after eating a heavy meal? It's advisable to wait a couple of hours. If you're really hungry, perhaps just have a banana before exercising and then eat the meal afterwards.
I'd have said possibly low blood sugar, which I've read can cause nausea. Try a light snack before exercise. If you are dieting that might explain it.
