i am very cross today. This morning i was walking to get my bus on a fairly busy road and saw a boy of about 3/4 by himself, anyway he ran into the road as i was walking past him and i saw a car coming up the road very fast and about to hit him, So i did the first thing that came into my head which was to more or less rugby tackle him throwing both me and him across the road, i have cuts and bruises and he had grazed knees and hands. We were both shaken and upset and the next thing the mother who had come round the corner, came over screaming and shouting calling me every name under the sun! I expained what had happened and the man in the car had stopped and run over to see if me and the boy were ok, and he also expained to the woman that had i not grabbed the kid he would have knocked him over. This woman turned to both of us and said that if she ever saw me or this man again she would kill us and stormed off, dragging the boy behind her shouting at him. Me and the driver were in a bit if shock and he stayed with me till i calmed down, but now i just cant believe it - maybe she was in shock too but bloody hell- yalk about ungrateful!! Grrrrr..........!

Thank god your alright and the boy too, if it had not been for you he could be seriously injured, if not worse (which just doesn't bare thinking about).
I'm sure this woman was probably in shock but that doesn't help the way you are feeling. You risked your life for this young man who you didn't even know, and for that you deserve a medal yet all you got was a gobful. The stupid woman wants to thank her lucky stars that you were there and maybe after she had calmed down and got over the shock she realises that now too.
I'm sorry there isn't really anything else I can say that can make you feel better about the situation, but well done you! Could always tell your story to the local paper, maybe they could do a road safety article about it and point out that parents obviously need to be drumming the importance of it home, next time the boy may not be so lucky.
