I often have to take a rennie during the night as I'm woken by acid reflux. I then go back to sleep and I wondered if chewing a rennie and not brushing my teeth afterwards (until next morning) would have any damaging effect on them ?

the acid itself will probably do your teeth more damage - I went to a new dentist recently; he took one look at my teeth and diagnosed acid reflux, from the way they were being eroded from behind. So stick with the Rennies, which is presumably antacid. Your doctor may be able to prescribe some Zoton or something too.

the 8 or so hours in bed are no different from the 16 or so hours that you are awake during the day that you don't clean your teeth, so i wouldn't worry about it.

you could alway have a mouthwash by the bed and spit it into a cup until morning, or chew a dental chewing gum for a few minutes afterwards

Try drinking some milk instead.
