was gonna make a snide comment about u being old enough to answer your own question bob!! but i've decided against it xx to answer your question maybe it is because they have been here longer than the younger generations and feel they know better xXx

before anyone starts i think the olden generation are great generally and those that served in the war are legends but its just a few that think they are beyond any form of criticism, can do no wrong and they are always right even when they are wrong :)

Now I agree a little hear. I have found old people are either really nice (like one of my grannies) or really horrible (like the other one). I also get annoyed that they have to get on the early bus with everyone else, to do their shopping, when they dont have to do anything else all day, they could as easily go in at 11. I was in the queue at the coffee shop and a man was buying his cake and coffee and when she told him the price he shouted at her that he was a pensioner. So!!

I think we should respect our elders because in there life time they have been through things alot worse than what we have!! I think old people are wise and I think the reason why they get a bit p*ssed off is because they way they used to live is not the same anymore. They understand what it is like to have food rationings that is why they might get abit angry about the price of things! I think alot of elderly people are set in their ways and I don't see that as a bad thing.

I bet when our younger generation will be in the same postion in 50 years time!!

I have met obnoxious young people who think the world revolves around them .

Oh I agree there are obnoxious young people too but I have a severely disabled cousin and from an early age taking her out in town (she is blind, autistic, has cerebal paulsy, cannot speak, cannot hear in one of her ears and self harms terribly) it is only the older generation that frown at her and show there disgust. It makes me mad when I take her to the park and it is one of maybe three things that make her truely happy, that old people get pi**ed off that they have to see her.

Again I say its probably the same in every generation but I lump them into the nice grandparent horrible grandparent category everytime.

I would also like to add that, believe it or not, I worked in a nursing home part time whilst at college. I loved them (mostly) dearly and always treated them with respect and loved hearing their stories about the war, or when they were young. I think that maybe now people are living to an older and older age society is definitely far more polarised and creating much different views on how to live.

There is good and bad wherever you go Goodsoulette.
Why people have to lump people into categories is beyond me. ... I had cause to make myself heard on a thread about fat people and was told to chill out ..when I said that my nephew suffered from Prader -Willi syndrome and could not help being like he is.I go out and about with him and the comments ...well !
Yet it's O.K to take the p**ss on a website !!
Any one reading some of these ridiculous posts could be extremely hurt by some of the comments.
I am getting old ..approaching retirement age but would not dream of making facetious comments to anyone .....young or old.
