Please help me!! Everyday, my hair goes static and I don't know how to stop it!! It happens when I brush my hair, after I washed my hair, and even when I'm not doing anything to it!! Does anyone know any products that I can use to treat this fly-away hair, and where to get them?? Thanks. xxx

It is your sahmpoo or conditioner that is doing this I reckon, get one for normal hair.

cool I already have got a shampoo for normal hair so i'll try getting a normal conditioner, Thanks for the advice xxx

Tinythang, you can buy anti static hairbrushes and they DO work :-)
tingthang, i've found i get it when i wear woolly jumpers or fleeces. tumble drying clothes also makes them static. hair spray might help keep it down....
Do you have an old set of jump-leads? If so, attach one end to your hair and let the other end trail on the ground. This should have the effect of earthing you, while you go about your daily business, thus preventing static. Just be careful not to walk on any railway lines or go on the bumper-car rides at the fairground. $(
Hair wax...Body shop carries this.

Thanks all of you, i'll try everything you said...I especially like the idea of getting a anti-static hairbrush, thanks jacey :-) where do you get an anti-static hairbrush from??? thanks xxx
Don't try the jump-leads, that was a joke and will make you look silly.

I had the same problem and asked my hairdresser. She said it is much more common in winter because it is caused by central heating and dry atmospheres.

Try putting a drop of serum on your hair when it is wet

Something I do is to spray my hairbrush with a little hair spray and then brush my hair. This works a treat.

Good luck.

I suffer from this too, especially in the winter. My top tip (and cheap too) is use conditioner on your hair then rinse as normal - then rub a little conditioner (depending on hair length - mine is nearly waist length so i use a pea sized blob) on your hands and work through your hair. Leave this ON and dry as normal - it stops the static and stops it getting so knotty - oh and it smells nice too a rather handsome young chap stood next to me in the supermarket queue and said 'Your hair smells gorgeous' it quite made my day!
hey tinythang..................i know this is a little late on the answering...hopefully youve found somthing that works for your ststic but if you havent thry this...... all you need is lotion..................after you get out of the shower take some lotion (any kind really) and streak it throug your hair. Dont get too much though or your hair will feel greasy. next DO NOT BUSH YOUR HAIR IF IT IS WET!!!! it will damage it... use a pick or a comb and once it is dry DO NOT TOUCH IT!!! that will make it frizzy! GOOD LUCK!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Hey everyone! Thanks for all your help, I now have an anti-static hairbrush, and an anti-static spray so now i have no problem with the static anymore......thanks for all of your solutions, and if the problem comes back, I will try the othere solutions too, thanks again. tinythang xxxxxxx
try loreal paris elvive shampoo and conditioner it will tame ur hair down and foe extra help try straighning ur hair with a good straighner and use straining cream that should make it less static
If your hair is not bleached, try not use a cream conditioner, There are "spray on leave in " conditioners out there. spray on comb through and leave in. let it dry on it's own or a cool/med heat hairdryer.
Another thing that makes hair " fly" is brushing it too much regarding what brush you use.

Lee

p.s if you must use a conditioner, just use it on the ends, not all over.
Put hair mouse on after you have washed it and comb it through it works well for me
