Hi,

I don't know if this is the right place for this but I've posted it in Parenting too!!

For approx the last 6 months my 3yr old son has been complaining that EVERYTHING is too loud!!...He is constantly walking around with his fingers in his ears (literally!)

He has never really had any other problems (2 ear infections, ever) and doesn't really suffer from many colds etc. He seems to hear perfectly well and his speech is fine so I don't think he has a hearing impairment as such and his previous hearing test was fine (age 1)

Ive asked him if the noise gives him a fright or hurts his ears and it seems to be both but he seems to get quite distressed by it! Weve had to leave the cinema just after the film started as it was too loud, but he quite happily watched 2 police cars go by with sirens blaring!!

Has anyone else experienced this or could it be an attention seeking thing? Ive got an appointment booked with the Dr next week but dont really know how it will be received or if I should ask for a referral for a hearing test.Doc is usually good but our HV service is rubbish!!

Any ideas would be greatly appreciated. Thanks

A xxx

(AB is being weird again - sorry)

Have you ever considered that his ears might be fine but that YOURS are not? (Serious question)
