Action For Children Quiz Winter 2024 C/D...

My hubby and I have been trying for a baby for about 9 months, with no success. I think the timing is the problem. Obviously I know that I ovulate 14 days before my period, but I spot for 4-5 days before I actually come on.
Apart from driving me mad because I keep trying to kid myself that it's implant bleeding, does the spotting count as a day, or is it only when I start properly that I should count it.
I know we could just try more sex, but sometimes we're so tired, and it would be nice to know when the right days are, just so we came muster up the energy when it really counts.
Thanks everyone
xx

For more on marking an answer as the "Best Answer", please visit our FAQ.I asked the same question about which day I should class my period from as I get spotting and then the next day it's a "proper" period. It was kind of mixed reaction here so I called the nurse at my surgery and she said it's the day you spot.
Do you know you get kits in boots that'll tell you when you're ovulating thus get baby making?
Apparently it works just like pregnancy kits, you just pee on the stick and it will show up a line.
Good luck

I would try the ovulation kits, but they are horrendously expensive, and you only get 5 or so in the pack, so you need to know pretty much when it is anyway. And I started spotting on Thursday and only came on properly today, so that's 4 days worth that I'm out. I don't think there would be enough sticks in the kit.
I will try some of the natural ways I think.
Thanks for your answers everyone
a bit icky this, but i was told by a practice nurse that the best time to try to make a baby is ......
ok you know in the month you get a bit of discharge - a bit gloopy and stringy? said it was icky. get a bit from you know where and if you can stretch it between finger and thumb about 2 inches then that is the time to go and practice.
this what i was told by a practice nurse of more than 11 years and she was deadly serious after having just told another woman who had been trying for 2 years this advice.
