probably too late for this year, but I read that if you start having a spoonful of local honey every day from April onwards , it is supposed to make the symptoms more bearable. It must be local honey though as it is somthing to do with the local pollen

cheers jan

It doesn't work.

However, my hubby came back from his hearing clinic today having seen an ad there for a nasal douche. It has a special combination of salts and flushes up one side of your nose and down the other. Gets rid of all the crud in your sinuses. Apparently it's quite painless and not too uncomfortable, so as as soon as I get some money (they're about 15) I'm going to get one and have a go.
i always suffer from hayfever but this year i have not had it i think ths is because i am taking nytol which has an anti-histomean (excuse spelling!) in them. you could try this and have a lovely nights sleep and no hayfever!

i read somewhere that marshamallow tablets from holland & barrett are good for hayfever.

goodluck!

Hi laurence2. Do you just take the tablets that you get over the counter or have you been prescribed them by your GP. My hayfever was terrible last year and those little tablets were doing absolutely nothing so I saw my GP and he diagnosed me a much higher dose. I now take 180mg (18 times the normal ones) which don't make me drowsy or have any side effects and make my hayfever much more bearable. It hasn't gone completely but I can certainly live with it now!!
