That means once you know evil exists you no longer ever need to experience it again diractly to know the good. Therefore any subsequent evil is totally unnecessary.
And the name God has in the bible is 'I am'. The eastern religions take this one literally. Q: "Who is God" A: "I am".

Very true David H. It's not helpful to think of it as a literal translation though, 'I am' implying God is within us and part of us, and is us, but we are not God if you see what I mean. Given that the Bible is the direct word of God, the 'I am', as in 'I am the way, the truth and the light' is the word of God. So it is referrring to 'himself'.
With the evil point, i suppose that you could argue that you need to be constantly fighting the path of evil to build your soul and character further.
I am just playing devils advocate though. I'm not sure that you can justify burning children at Auschwitz as some sort of master plan to help us all.
Another point to raise is that we are vry fixed here in the idea of a christian God. If anything our world looks like the flawed attampts of an infantile God, who embarrassed at his own handiwork, upped and left.
