how many of us are left handed ?

up to about a year ago, i was almost 100% left handed, but with the job i do now i find im using my right hand more and more.

any "right handed" comments about lefties is welcome.

Im a lefty, mostly.

Play cricket right handed, use knife and fork right handed, and play guitar right handed... everything else left handed.

i am right handed, but i wasn't allowed to be in play the recorder with the class at primary school because i couldn't play it with my left hand like everyone else - and it looked out of synch with everyone else, and i was really good!

i have never quite got over it....

Nar IAP, I'm assuming it doesn't run in the family, as i'm a south paw and no one else, not even my two daughters, in my family are.

PS I've always been totally useless with my right hand, couldn't even master a mouse (PC variety, not rodent!) with my right, used to drive my work mates mad if i'd sat at their PC's as i'd always moved the mouse to the left heh!

and whilst we are on the subject, if a left hander is known as a southpaw, does that mean a righthander is a northpaw? east paw?

I am left handed and I do wonder what would happen if we put up more of a fight for being recognised i.e. trying to press my numbers into the machine in M & S yesterday which was rammed up against the side of the unit and I coudn't get my hand in, calculators, keyboards, irons, etc. etc. in fact give someone right handed a left handed implement and watch them struggle and this is what we have to put up with all the time. Anyway, I find the whole subject fascinating and I can do joined up normal writing in mirror writing and I am sure it is to do with being left handed and nothing particularly clever, and I do think the whole subject has not been properly understood.

ive got two kids. my daughter, the eldest is left handed (75-80% ambi)

my son is right handed. the thing about work. to do the job in the required way, i need to use both hands with equal accuracy. there is a mix of hard physical work and light nimble work. if i couldnt use my right hand, ide be out of work !

i can only use a mouse right handed !!!!

I am a righty, and so are 3 of my children..my youngest is a lefty. She was a twin (I miscarried the other) and I always wonder if the other twin would have been a righty! out of the 6 children my nan had 2 were lefties.

They were classed as 'special needs' in school (1960's/70's). Didn't they used to think lefties were witches many moons ago?

My husband is left handed but he is the only one in the family, neither of his 2 kids have followed the trait. I thought my eldest son was gonna be a left hander until the age of about 2 1/2 because he grabbed everything with the left hand but he suddenly changed over.It doesn't really restrict my husband too much although he says, he can't use the iron because of it!!!! Not conviced about that one. It does my head in when he writes cards though, he always smudges his writing and it looks a mess.

Aparrently most twins are lefties, even if you havent got a twin it is possible that you were if you are left handed, my son is a lefty and he was a twin, i miscarried his twin in the early stages. So many of you lefties should have had a twin
