Can anyone who knows something about the meaning of dreams, or why we dream about certain things that seem unrelated to our everyday thoughts, please tell me why I've recently been dreaming about old friends that I no longer have any contact with. This is happening most nights, and the friends arent necessarily connected with each other.
The best person to decode your dreams is your self, not others and dictionary meanings are only a clue. This site seems to be full of clues; Sweet dreams. :-) http://www.dreammoods.com/index.html
Thanks Mick :o) Your site came up with a good answer, unexpected, but it makes sense I suppose.
It said: To see your childhood friend in your dream, signifies regression into your past where you had no responsibilities and things were much simpler and carefree. You may be wanting to escape the the pressures and stresses of adulthood. Consider the relationship you had with this friend and the lessons that were learned.
Dream analysis is extremely complex and many different theories have evolved. It all depends on whose theories you decide to believe. For example one theory suggests that in your dreams the people and places themselves are irrelevant but that each person and place are actually an expression of yourself and what your subconscious is trying to fathom at this stage of your being.
I dont think that dictionay meanings should be given much consideration as they are just too simplified to explain a complex process. Perhaps you should try a qualified dream analyst if this means enough to you.
