too right, especially in Cancun or somewhere where a storm is a proper storm not just a few drops of big rain! When we were in Cayo Guillaume Cuba it was a real storm and I have it on film, it looks great but i actually stood on the beach (like a wally) and watched the lightening on the sea.

stood outside mopping about the game and the heavens opened, the storm only lasted ten mins but felt utterly exhilarated!
I was in Tampa bay once, and the heavens opened up, everyone legged it for cover, but spot the englishmen who sat outside drinking a nice cool beer {yes me}
Heck, where are you, and I wish !!

In Croydon it is 40C in the shade, not a cloud in sight, but the tomatoes love it and have grown - no kidding - an inch since this time yesterday.
Oh yes !!! I thought it was just me who loves the rain. I can remember many years ago walking the "South Downs Way" - along beautiful country foot- and bridle-paths. On a very hot sunny afternoon (like today) we were in open country with only a small copse ahead (about a mile away). Suddenly the air pressure changed, it became really hot and sultry and black storm clouds appeared overhead. We all starting running towards the copse and arrived as the heavens opened. Trouble was, I love the rain so much, I dashed back out into the open with my arms stretched out. My friends thought I was absolutely bonkers and didn't understand me at all !

im in stoke on trent, although the wonderful storm has just finished. lasted a coupla hours. whoever it goes to next, enjoy!!!
There's nothing worse than spitting rain. If it rains, I like a good old-fashioned hold-onto-your hats storm. I find cycling in the rain especially exhilarating.
I've been caught out in a stair-rod downpour while cycling - found the whole thing hilarious, and couldn't stop laughing.
I'd give it another 30 mins yet to start in Middlesbrough, the skys that lovely stormy colour and the breeze is just picking up, but I'll be out there to see the big spots start appearing.
Nope. Sorry , I guess i'm in the minority here because i'm a big scaredy pants. I cower in my house until the storm passes , close all my curtains , switch everything electrical off and stand with my knees knocking ! I've been terrified of storms ever since I was caught out in one at the age of seven and watched lightning bounce off the ground near to where I was standing. I guess that explains why I became a fast runner ! I suppose I never gave much thought before that to the fact that lightning CAN hit you and doesn't just stay in the sky looking pretty. I hate the really loud rumble of thunder and just recently in East Kilbride where I live we had a pretty terrifying/spectacular - depending on your point of view - storm which went on for hours on end. We had the full whack , sheet , fork lightning etc. The pictures in the paper the following day were pretty cool but I bet the old man who had to be rescued in Hamilton whilst clinging on to a lampost , waist high in water didn't agree. I try to play it cool for my kids' sake by saying , wow that was a good one when i'm really shaking like a leaf. We had a thunderstorm today but thankfully it passed quite quickly. I'm just a big feartie !!!
