I don't know if you like me or not so I will answer and presume you do.In Russia they still have canning for children as young as three.I think it stopped in England about 20 years ago.I have been canned but I was innocent.

There was still the cane at my school when I left 22 years ago. I didn't have it, but was threatened with it a few times..I knew quite a few kids who had it though!

I have never been caned but my brother was, he was born in 1957 and used to get the cane once a month minimum at Wigan Road School Ormskirk in the late 1960's early 1970's, he left in 73 I think. at 15.

Im 27 and never got caned at school. The public schools around here dont have it. My dad went to public school in the 70s and he reckons he got caned a lot. Saying that I was too good to get a caning anyway, not evena detention to my name.

You will find it hard to believe but I was a sod at school, I had the cane at least once a week in secondary school, always 6 strokes 3 on each hand if it was really bad 6 on each hand, they also used to throw the blackboard cleaner at us,and I even had a metal ruler across the knuckles I am in my 50s left school 1963

Scarisbrick Hall School in Ormskirk were caning when I left in 1980. It was seen as an easy option....I was never caned or slippered, as were the girls!
My son goes to a private school in Southport and they don't cane there!

I left school in 1964, and did get the cane on occasion, our school caned on the hands and buttocks, a couple of teachers used the slipper, and we had one teacher, (female), who carried her cane all the time, it must have been 1/2inch accross, a nasty bit of work, she enjoyed using it.

We had a teacher that used to throw blackboard rubbers and chalk at us too...crikey those board rubbers used to smart!

They have corporal punishment in many Russian schools although not in all.There is such a thing as nursery in Russia aswell you know!

A big black board made of either slate or cloth..on which you use chalk to write the words.
