Make up lesson

Has anyone ever paid for a make up lesson? I am going on a date with a really cute guy next week and I am so useless at applying make up, I usually get my mum to do it. This time want to look really good, so I considered paying to have my make up done by someone else.
WHen looking at the price list I also saw "make up lesson" Has anyone ever had one, are they any good? I was going to have it done the morning of the day of the date. I am truely useless at applying make up and even when mum attempts to teach me, I still can't do it, well I spoze its only eye shadow, the rest I can do.
SO firstly is it worth it? Secondly would it be something worth doing before the date or would it be best just to pay for make up application?
Thanks

So I was a bit cheeky, I booked one of those parasol photo sessions, you know the ones - everything is free - its the photos you pay for afterwards. Got my make up and hair done for free and didn't buy any photos!! My mate tried that with a posh one in London and they scrubbed all the make up off after the photo session tho!!
My Housemate is a Beauty Therapist, and she says that a make up lesson is worth doing, not just for the date, but for future nights out etc, as long as you go somewhere reputable. If your in the Preston, Lancashire area, my housemate would do it for you at a very reasonable rate and she is excellent!
But, if you went to somewhere like Boots, the Clarins, Estee Lauder etc counters, will show you how to apply products for free if you were planning to buy them, as this is one of the main ways the staff sell products, by demonstrating how good they are. Good luck!
