You are probably much younger than me. Obviously you were not aware at the time of the case against her. It got full media coverage, to the point of (not sensationalism) outrage by consumers that she had lied about animal testing on the products she sold.

Why should I have to know her personally, to know this?
Admittedly, we didn't have the internet to glean our information from, but we did have Reuters, PA, AP and oh yes the broadsheets, TV and the radio!

I remember that case... whenever my mum walks past a Body Shop nowadays she mumbles some obscenity or other, and, quite frankly, I don't blame her. The Body Shop products used to be - I suppose they still are - lovely to use (I still remember that smell, walking in...).

Nowadays we find a way around it by just buying L'Oreal stuff second-hand, i.e. in a charity shop. That way, we're not giving THEM the business, and still not supporting them in any way.
