Oral Sex from 15yr Old Girl

My friend and I have been disagreeing about whether or not it is illegal to receive oral pleasure from an underage girl (15) He says it's NOT illegal and I say it IS illegal...and if it isn't illegal, it bloody well should be! Anyone got a clue?

If both participants are under 15 the law is unlikely to be enforced.

The Sex Offenders Act (1997) included the offence of adult sexual activity with a child and covers any sex act that takes place between an adult and a child under 16. This will cover a range of behaviour, including your question inducing children to take off their clothes for sexual pleasure.

No no, simply an arguement between the two of us. No need to panic! I think the law needs to be stronger on underage sex, it's all very well saying it's illegal but unless it's a really young child, the law doesn't seem to care that much! I also think the age should be upped to 18, because 16 years olds don't know they're born these days, have no common sense and absolutely no sense of morals! You should hear what comes out of the mouths of schoolgirls these days! It's disgusting!

I agree Chappers, I used to get the bus home at 7.30 am and it would be full of school kids. One day I was sitting (with my 8 year old son) and this ghastly girl in the seat behind me (must have been about 14) was telling her friend in great detail what she had been up to the night before. "Oh we did it in this postion and that position" When she started talking about oral sex, I turned round and said "EXCUSE ME! do you mind?" and she looked at me like I was some mad old woman! I was horrified

Because of course teenagers always pay serious attention to the law, don't they? Rather than yet more legislation governing something that cannot be policed in any meaningful way, could we not have better sex education in schools and more open, honest relationships between children and their parents? Crazy idea, I know...

Saintjohnny, we had great sex education when I was at school (only 10 years ago) but not many pay attention to it...and sex education cannot teach morals! That is surely down to the parents.

Chappers, it's vital kids get good sex education and feel able to go to family planning clinics, their GP etc without fear that their sexual partner will end up in jail. To this effect, I think the recent legislation has been a backward step in that many teenagers do not feel safe any longer approaching authority figures that could help them with their sexual health. I personally think it's high time that the age of consent was lowered to something along the lines of 14 ( in line with some European countries) as I hate the idea that children are criminalised for behaving normally and naturally with one another. You may consider sex etc to be disgusting ( and judgeing from your recent thread you do have issues with sex before marriage) but like it or not teenagers WILL have sex with one another and I'd prefer them to be as safe and secure as possible and not under threat of a criminal conviction which would potentially ruin their lives.

Hear hear Noxlumos. "Morals" are a subjective thing, and I am immediately suspicious of anyone who tries to claim that their "morality" is the way things should be. As a society, we have to accept that teenagers as young as 14 - 15 are sexually aware and there is absolutely nothing we can do about it short of adding hormone dampeners to the water supply. The Dutch (as in so many things) have got it absolutely right - an age of consent of 14, a well funded, serious sex education program in schools and a society that is not afraid of sex as we are in the UK. As for the swearing, no, it's not nice, but I would refer you to Chaucer's "The Canterbury Tales" for some truly eyewatering swear words. It's part of speech and part of life. Get over it Chappers. You are not a moral guardian, and neither is anyone else!
