job centre woes
4 Answers
last week i went to sign on and after waiting for ages was told that earlier in the week i had failed to show for an interview (at the job centre) i was supposed to have gone to, at first i didn't have a clue what they were talking about but i just thought well at a previous appointment i had a load of different dates for things shoved at me so maybe i just got confused but when i got home i could not find anything with the date of the interview i missed on. i have an appointment tomorrow to "explain myself". unless they show me a piece of paper i have signed saying i would agreed to go on that date i think they need to explain to me why they expect me to show up for appointments which i have not been informed of. anyone have any simular experiences?

i employ people and refuse to advertise with the job centre!! they send people because they have to be activly seeking work!! but they only have to be interviewed to getthere money for the week, they are not interested in a job at all!!
so the moral of the story is............... the best jobs need to be hunted!! they wont be in the job centre!!

if you want them to give you money for nothing then you have to follow their rules.
i have missed appointments too in the past and i have just explained that i forgot and can i book another or said i didn't receive a letter ( doesn't work if they give the letter face to face though) - it will be fine a slong as you attend the next one.
they really don't need you to agree to go - you want cash you must attend - simple as that.
