We are all born with two fears - the fear of falling and the fear of sudden loud noises.

It is very common.
Yeah but loud noises can happen spontaneously, rather than when expected? Normally you know as you're encountering a height, but a big BANG can happen out of the blue.
Remember there's a difference between a healthy fear and a Phobia which controls our lives. Be careful not to let it effect your life in a negative way. I really hate loud noises, don't know if I would say its a fear but it does prevent my enjoyment of certain things. I've never been to a live music concert and won't listen to bands in pubs. I hide in my room when my Mum vacuums the House and if I go to a club I don't speak to people, I can't stand them shouting in my ear. tbh I'd never thought twice about it until I just read your question.
