Do you think it's human nature to look down on people?
All through life people tend to look down on other people, even if they've been in that situation or are in the same situation.

Like when you're at school you look down on the people you think are the geeks, and the 'geeks' look down on people they think are geeks and so on.
Then you see people talking about how so and so has a filthy house or is a bad parent etc. when that person mihgt not be that great themselves.

Do you get what i mean? It seems that that everyone needs to look down on someone else no matter what position they're in themselves. I'm not talking about murderers and criminals, i mean just normal, everyday people.

Did that make any sense? lol

i think people who dont like themselves or have problems tend to look down on people who have handicaps or are not so good looking are slow or whatever, some folks even go further and pick on them becos it makes them look or feel good about themselves, this is wrong but they cant see that because they're blinded by their own problems and dont know any other way.
you mean the upper class looking down on the working class, i would'nt call it human nature, Arrogant and Rude more likely

no, not classes, just normal people.

people often hate most in others, the things they are most guilty of themselves.

for instance thieves seem to hate other thieves with rightious indignation and always suspect everyone else of potentially being a thief.

arrogant people get most irate at the arrogance of another

i think its because its a trait they know well and wish they didn't have it - though i think it is often subconscious
I hate giants, they're always looking down on people.
One of David Frost's sketches on his show 'Frost over Britain' did just that, with John Cleese, Ronnie Barker and Ronnie Corbett , standing in a line either looking down on the other two or looking up to the other two!!
i think i can say, without fear of being proven wrong, that i treat everyone the same... i have never felt the need to "big myself up" or to "belittle those that are less fortunate" than i am.... cant say i dont take an instant dislike to people, because i do...

perhaps its because i come from a big family and our bad times were worse than most. out good times, were brilliant and we tended to make the most of everything we had...

i can sit and talk to tramps no problem...
i have no desire to sit and chat with the ones who rate themselves as "upper class"...

im just a regular guy with regular family values...
i think our upbringing guides us through the rest of our lives....
