not on here, as it's all just pretend and pixel world, it's not real.....no matter how strongly I feel, there are some debates on AB (testing on animals, abortion) that the r soles just take over, and I personally can't be bothered.
oh Pippa, you know I didn't mean you....but you know the kind of biggotted or sh1t-stirring gurnty that comes on to these topics and just hurls abuse and crap at anyone who disagrees with them. All reasonable individuals get beaten down by one or two thuggish voices and it all becomes utterly meaningless. It's like the very un pc joke about why arguing over the internet is like taking part in the special olympics.... (I won't go on lest I offend, but the point is valid). It's the reason that News was renamed Hysterical rants by some of us a while back.
I know exactly what you mean Kick..just joshin :o) the problem with bigots & sh1t stirring gurnties is that they wind everyone up into a frenzy, and people like me get caught up in the car crash.
I so wish I could say my piece & then walk away quietly. Maybe I will learn!
lol Stevie, i wasn't talking abotu anyoen in particular. I just dont' post or even read these threads. To be honest, News just bores me. if I want to debate these topics, I do so with friends etc, rather than faceless wind up merchants who jsut wnat to provoke a reaction to make them feel that their petty lives are of some value. I don't feed trolls.
I have a bit of a feminist in me who is dying to get out. I'm terrible for stepping in and defending women's rights. I actually find it amazing at how much sexism still goes on in the workplace and in relationships in this day and age, AND how many women are oblivious to it and therefore don't know how to stand up for themselves. So that's where I come in. ;o)
Another thing that bugs me is obstinate people in discussions. Especially when they're wrong. I'm very open-minded and love a good discussion or debate. I like being educated to a point that my perspective may change, so when somebody comes into a discussion with one idea and they won't budge from it I find myself going for the jugular! There's nothing more satisfying than out-witting a person like that.
but Champers (hi babes, how are you) don't you just feel that you are wasting your time? You may out wit them (but they're fairly thick these folk, so that's not a huge challenge) but you won't change their minds, educate them, or make them reconsider their stance. Ever.
It depends, kick (Hello to you too! I'm good thanks. How the devil are you today?). Sometimes you can get them to contradict themselves. If the person is really stubborn then you can mock them. Everyone tends to join in. It's great entertainment value! :oD
I'm obviously a hand wringing, simpering, blubbering liberal, because I can't let a comment go by if it's about
immigration=bad
muslims=bad
paedos =burn and torture
Also political correctness. It doesn't exist, apart from in one or two over-exuberent councillors. Get over it.
In fact unsubstantiated hate of any kind really gets my goat, and I'll reply to that.
Well to answer the original question, I always feel compelled to challenge the conspiracy theorists, especially the moon landings. They go to ever greater lengths to avoid admitting they are wrong in face of overwealming evidence.
I also challenge the Global warming/where all doomed mob, they usually have no idea what they are talking about because they have just taken some media rant as gospel. They often just skulk away.
I'm bad and will bite back if someone is mean to me on here but mainly only because I'm not mean to anyone (I don't think!) and I think we should all live and let live.
