You are right:

Liver products and supplements containing vitamin A
Make sure you don't have too much vitamin A. This means you should avoid eating liver and liver products such as pt and avoid taking supplements containing vitamin A or fish liver oils (which contain high levels of vitamin A). You need some vitamin A, but having too much means that levels could build up and may harm your unborn baby. Ask your GP or midwife if you want more information.

This is taken from the Food Standards Agency.

You are. Liver contains high levels of vitamin A which is too toxic for the foetus. Other no no-nos include :

Soft cheese like Brie , pate , uncooked eggs , unpasteurised milk , shellfish , soft boiled eggs , nuts , alcohol/drugs (for obvious reasons) , undercooked meat etc. She should always be vigilant in washing fruit and veg thoroughly to remove any soil traces which may be left as this could lead to toxoplasmosis which could pose a serious risk to the foetus. Hope this helps x
Sorry. Had a problem posting and Ethel's post wasn't there when I tried to post my answer. Apologies for the duplicate answer.
when i had my first son, 15 years ago, i was told to eat lots of Liver because it was very good for you with lots of iron. When i was pregnant with my second son, 3 years ago, it was a complete no no due to it containg too much iron! sometimes, i give up with all this stuff! Whats good for you one day is bad the next and vice-versa!
