For any piercing it is generally 18 without parental concent and they have evry right to refuse with or without it too.
It swells up a fair bit but it all depends on the person - different people react differently to different things <- Mouthfull lol. And most piercings smart a bit, again it depends on your tolerance to pain, if you hurt alot from small things then I would think again about it. I personally have had all mine done due to the feeling, I love that feeling afterwards when you have had a piercing, its great.
You have to be at least 80, by which time you will have developed enough common sense to value your eyesight, your hearing and your speech and not muck about with the valuable organs which enable you to enjoy these facilities.

Yes . it does swell up and you probably won't be able to talk for at least a week and your family and friends will greatly enjoy laughing at your discomfort.

And yes it does hurt a lot. But life hurts too. So why inflict this pain on yourself. Live to be a little older and you'll probably get plenty of unsolicited pain inflicted on you by others, without inflicting in on yourself.

Can't believe you are over 14 steph.e
My daughter is 16 & goes to a reputable piercing place. I had to go with her in order for her to have her navel pierced when 7 months ago (she was 15 at the time).

She wants her lip pierced soon, and I have to give my permission in order for her to do so ~ although I don't have to be there in person. Under 16's have to have a parent/guardian present, under 18's must have parental permission (via phone or in person).
1. 16 in a reputable place, most places would probably do it maybe with a parent/guardian there if you didnt have any proof of age.

2. i had mine done about 2/3 weeks ago, and the swelling went down in around 4/5 days, you cant talk properly for the first two days, and cant eat properly at all for the first few days (soft food only), i went back to get the bar changed after just over a week, and i couldnt eat properly until then because when i tried to eat normal i bit really hard on the bar and that hurt like hell!!! you need to swish your mouth out with salt water twice a day, and then on top of that swish it after any food/drink you have thats not water. i havent had any trouble with mine getting infected or anything.

3. about the same as getting your belly button pierced, depends on how high your pain threshold is i suppose. mine didnt hurt that much, it didnt hurt half as much as a thought it would! until the swelling goes right down and the bar gets changed to a smaller one its more awkward than anything because you cant eat properly if at all! once the bar gets changed its fine - or it should be.
i will say though that i think the most painful bit was getting the bar changed.

i hope this helps, and let us know if it goes okay. good luck!

thanks missjef you were a lot of help & for the people who think im out of my fliping tree well just like to tell you so wot i only want people who give advice ive done lots of research on aftercare of piercings

its not like its a spear of the moment ive thort about all the possitives & negatives for a bout 6 months now its not like
i want it done because iv seen people in the streets & said im going to get it done it looks cool
Hey well i think you have to be around 16 or 18 (not entirely sure but you can have parents consent to have it done)
When i had mine done i found it swelled up a fair bit and was awkward to eat for about a week you end up just taking hours to eat like 5 chips carefully as your tongues still numb but it does get better. Took me around a week to eat properly again and fully healed after a couple of months. I was scared ******** even though ive had other piercings (septum/lip and stretchers in ears) but this didnt even hurt compared to those this was the least painful of them all! It more feels odd and its more just sore and throbs a little afterwards when the numbing stuff wears off
if u r wondering bout the name i am using my cousins sign in lol well to get it done u have 2 b 18 but u can get it done younger with consent.i have had mine done twice now the first time it swelled up a bit and didnt hurt much. The 2nd time i had i done it didnt swell as much and hurt a little as i had it peirced throu the same hole.love laura x
hi im a beauty therapist and i do peircings.
1 it is usually 18 but under the age of 18 u would need consent
2 it does swell up but nothing 2 much ,the therapist will actually put a bigger bar in than normal but it is nothing to worry about.
3 well i have had mine done twice and it didnt hurt me that much .although it mite afterwards and mite b painfull to eat but that will soon wear off.
hope this has helped u
