New tampon advert, grrrrrrrrr.

Has anyone seen the new tampon ad that has a funky voice-over by a man. Maybe its just me but when I saw it last night I wanted to put my foot through the telly. I mean some bloke telling us ladies how great they are, etc, blah, blah, blah. what a load of kack. Are Tampax trying to be really cool and hip? Well I for one am not amused.
Also wanted to hit my partner over the head with frying pan but this was totally unrealted to Tampax advert.
This is not a PMT rant or maybe it is, I don't know, but I am going to the loos now for a good cry;-o)

Of course, fathers traditionally seldom offered much tampon advice. In this case, it may be aimed at encouraging thoughts of a more sexually equal world where men don't make period jokes ('Never trust anything that bleeds for days and doesn't die') and don't regard menstruating women as more likely to hit them with a fying pan.
Bit of a failure, then.

jno - encouraging thoughts of a more sexually equal world??? I wish and hope. When I put tampons on the shopping list my partner will come back with everything on the list except tampons!!!! He simply refuses to buy them but he has no problem with me buying condoms (neither do I for that matter but still), what a t*sser.

Lets go girls!!!
Seriously though mdoo98 do you not find it patronising when women are used to advertise a normally male dominated product. Say for instance,at a motor show when there are lots of lovely young sexy women paid to drape themselves lascivously over the cars!! I mean toes that not really annoy you????
Was laughing myself when I typed that.

like I said, there'll be a reason for it - ads cost zillions to make, so things like this aren't done on a whim - they'll have thought a lot about it and spoken to focus groups and stuff. But they still make mistakes. If they get enough negative feedback they'll drop it; the ads are supposed to be selling tampons, not annoying people.
As to what the reason was... can't even begin to imagine.
