i have to give a urine sample for a new job i am going for on tuesday 8th aug and last smoked on friday 28th july

If this is for a standard medical then I'm not sure that the urinalysis would pick up cannabis, we do drug screens on patients at work and test with a specific THC (cannabis) drug screen kit a bit like a pregnancy test kit. Each drug has it's own one. But we only do one if we need to know if Cannabis has been used. A run of the mill urine test would detect abnormalities indicating illness I think.

Personally, i would'nt employ anyone who does drugs, and please spare me with the ''ITS ONLY A SOCIAL DRUG'' drug users are a liability no matter what the job is, you might well pass the urine sample after being given advice, but you will be ''CAUGHT OUT'' sooner rather then later, due to the fact that ''ALL COMPANIES'' operate ''RANDOM'' drug testing, and if you are a regular user or even a weekend/social user someone will notice you at work {after all users stand out like a sore thumb} and tip the boss off who will get you randomlly testered, then when you fail, you will be sacked and near on unemployable as it will be on your employment record.

Sorry for sounding so harsh but as i said, i have ''NO TIME'' for drug users

What a load of rubbish!!! Not all companies do random drug testing. I've been in employment for 12 years and not one company I've worked for have done any kind of random drug testing. Of those 12 years I've been employed, I used drugs for about 4 years (recreationally at weekends when not at work) and not once was I ever detected as a user and ALWAYS my work has been top notch!!!

Hii flipflop - it depends on the company, I worked for a petroleum company and they regularly did random drink and drugs test - failing a test was instant dismissal - it was a health and safety issue. BTW the site alcohol limit was 1/2 the legal limit too.

flipflop, maybe i did'nt explain it correctly, companies that drug test as part of you getting the job, randomly test after that.{fact}

Obviously ''NOT ALL'' jobs do drug testing.
