What a twits. Imagine being offended at a photo like that on a baby magazine. Maybe those offended still think that babies arrive via the stork.
The main problem may be the US law. AFAIK it is still illegal for mags/TV/films to show bare boobs, it is ok to show people getting murdered/raped/blown to pieces, but no boobs.
I think it's a gorgeous photo..a baby getting the best start in life and bonding with mum. If I see a mum feeding I smile.
I breastfeed anywhere (with a sling you can feed and walk) and I've never encountered a problem, if they did I'd tell them what for!
It's one of the contributing to factors to our predominantly bottlefeeding society. Formula companies have used very clever marketing techniques and undermined confidence of women (most women say they will "try" and feed instead of they "will" feed), poor support and advice (like blimming gina ford and her dangerous suggestions of schedules) plus societies view on feeding in public and sexualisation of breasts has led to this.
It's so sad.
I asked Hollyoaks once why babies are not breastfed in the show. They told me it may offend. So it's ok to have young teenage girls in underwear and bikinis but not help educate the young by showing the main and fantastic purpose of breasts! it's not like you see anything when feeding anyway.
World gone mad.
