ergonomics for best use of mouse
3 Answers
I use my keyboard a lot, and have to do lots of typing in my job, I use the mouse with my right hand, but since 3 weeks ago I've had constant pins and needles running up my right arm from my index finger. I think it's related to how I sit at my desk... I've got ok posture, and chair but I think it's how I operate the mouse. I've requested a desk assessment at work, but that won't happen straight away - can anyone please recommend any good websites with further info and diagrams?

however you can insist on a desk assessment straight away, they should have booklets on VDU use anyway and ask for a wrist support and mouse mat with a wrist support. As out H* S officer i keep all of these in stock, and would carry out a risk assessment that day

It's surprising the amount of people that don't use a mouse the proper way.
Your wrist should be on a flat surface with your hand over the mouse and the weight of the hand should be responsible for the mouses movement and not the wrist.
As most modern mice are extremly light they don't seem to work very will if you use them the wrong way.
