hi tuna i had i think its called carpwall tunnel syndrome or something which used to kill my wrists i knowits not the same but one of those spongy things that go at the bottom of yr keyboard helped me and the anti inflamatorys the doc gave me.
hope this helps :~)
If you have osteoarthritis in your hands like I do then I sympathise. My fingers look like knobbly sausages ! I break off if I am using the computer for a while and flex my fingers. I can't cope with the laptop because you sort of have to type level with it if you know what I mean ! I find it easier on the old normal keyboard. Once you have this in your finger joints there is not much you can do.Just try to keep the fingers supple, take a supplement ,cod liver oil or Glucosamine.I do knitting but I have to put that down after a while.Peeling, chopping and packaging drive me to distraction.
Carpal Tunnel sydrome is stretched tendons in the wrists which is different to osteoarthritis although wrist supports might help .You can get the sports ones from Boots. You can get a ball that you can squeeze to keep the fingers supple.
Ha Ha ....bound to be a rude remark in that from someone!!
A spliff is guaranteed to help, not that I would know anything about that. ;-)
It's important not to sit for more than hour at a time at the computer. Get yourself a little buzzer/timer and set it for 60 minutes. Then stand up, walk around and flex your shoulders to reduce stiffness in neck & shoulders. . Buy a rubber squeezy ball (the size of a tennis ball) and and squeeze it for a few moments at the same time to loosen the muscles in your hands, relieve the tension & improve circulation. . Also ensure your posture is good while typing and that you have a suitable chair height.
Soaking hands in hot water, or resting them on a hot water bottle for a few minutes might also help reduce the pain level. Glucosamine with chrondritin is supposed to help joints; also a daily cod liver oil capsule.
Keep eating the stuff you got your name from!
Spliffs indeed !
We can't have doped up Biddybankers stumbling around !
We are incoherent enough as it is !
