try and negotiate first
meant to say you might have a case with the council if you are a night worker, my wife would hate it
Having been there myself, I wouldn't lower myself to their level as it becomes a noise war then and it will eat into you.
We had this 5 years ago with noise, believe it or not from an old lady, who was totally deaf and had everything on lound from 4am in the morning, Sundays was worse, she played the piano and we had hymns all morning!! We had a prostitue in the house behind us who used her doorstep to do her business on and sat there all summer drinking.
House opposite had a teenage boy living there on his own who used and sold drugs - nightmare! We sold our house 6 months after moving in! Best thing we did. When I see previous owners I will thank them NOT! It is a hard one, and I would suggest talking to them, making friends with them first before blowing out your sub woofers!
