I would call a girl ROBYN as robins remind me of my grandparents, KELSIE as my grandma was Elsie but that would be cruel now-a-days or CADENCE, which I know is more unusual but I really like it. Also like KAYLEIGH, MATILDA (Tilly) and FREYA.
Boys names JOSEPH but a bit too popular, LUIS or JONAH, again I know that's unusual but I like it and my favourite story when I was younger was Jonah and the whale. Boys names are harder because they'd be more likely to get bullied over an unusual name.
nat84 my niece is called MIA and I can't say I liked it but now I think it suits her and couldn't imagine her being called anything else. Her Mum originally wanted IVY though which I think is terrible so she did have a lucky escape.
Can't stand ELLIE, everyone seems to be calling their babies that at the moment, I know of 3 in the last few months.

I have three boys called Matthew , Jack and Samuel (Sam)
If they were a girl they were going to be called lauren, I have gone off it now and I am not even going to try for one!
I chose "safe" names after growing up being called Aileen
which you have to spell and pronouce all the time and no its not pronouced Eileen it's A-leen.

what I'm more worried about is the wrong spelling of so many names posted here! I'm all for having unusual names (provided your child won't be bullied because of it) but at least spell them properly.
I also like more traditional names because they tend to be nice at any age (can you imagine being a professional 30-something and called Mercedez or Draven!?!?!) so names like Isabel and Lily, or Ben or Tom.
