I anyone a member. I've just joined a class and the lady who runs it said that I should try to go 4 times a week. However someone else told me that you are not supposed to go on consecutive days, and it's only open 6 days a week, so how can I go 4 times? If I went Mon, Wed, Fri that's 3 times!!! I'm too embarassed to ask the Curves lady. Thanks

You should do the machines only every other day because they cause microtears in the muscles (this is totally normal), which then grow stronger by repairing themselves. You've got to give them a day to repair, otherwise you can do real damage. On the off days, it's cardio cardio cardio. You can just do the platforms, or maybe your place has bikes, ellipticals, treadmills - as long as you get your heart rate up, you'll see the benefits in short order.
I am a member of a curves gym and the recommendation is definately 3 times a week however you can go every day as long as you alternate the emphasis - ie one day do more on the machines and less on the aerobic stations and on the other low output on the machines and high output on the aerobic stations.
With the set up in a curves gym you shouldn't need to go more than 3 x 30 mins per week to see results.
Good luck!
