Hey all,

My little sister is in hospital with Pneumonia! She had a chest infection last week and by Saturday she was taken into hospital for Xrays and blood tests. She now has fluid on the lung which is being drained through a tube and they were checking her for TB!!! They stuck a camera down her chest yesterday and said she has no signs of TB but they can't rule it out completely. They say she also might have to go to London for an operation to remove the remainder of fluid from the lung! :o(
I am so worried about her. She is now in a nurse barrier room where you have to wash your hands when you enter and when you leave and wear a mask so you don't infect her. I am not allowed to see her tonight as I have a slight cold and I am not allowed to put her at risk! I miss her loads. I am so worried and just want her to be ok.

Please don't tell me any horror stories about when someone you know was ill... I just need cheering up! :o(

Thank you Crete. She was so bad during Monday and Tuesday but yesterday she seemed much better and she is eating again. Doesn't stop me worrying though that it might all take a turn for the worst again. xx
Hospitals often make things look far worse than what they are, they just take extreme measures for safety sake, they dint want to sued for negligence so are extra cautious.

Its a worrying time for you, I'm sure your Sis will be home again in a day or so, why not distract yourself by being positive and making her a welcome home present and you can go over the top, just to show her how much you missed her. I'm sorry if this is sounding like I'm giving advice to a child, maybe you are, maybe you are an adult, the advice is the same!!

Hope she gets well and come home very soon!!
yes i can see how you are still very worried but the fact she is a little better is great isnt it ? and starting to eat again is a good sign.
Ruby,

My mother in law was in intensive care for a week in March with the same thing. 3 days after finally being taken out the drug induced coma they had put her in she was in a side ward but unable to walk. 4 days after that she was allowed home.

Its a tough and exhausting thing to recover from but once the reason for the fluid buildup is found and the infecton is treated then Im sure you sister will make a very speedy recovery
My spelling really hit the wall in that post LOL

Thanks Red. One of the comforting things is loads of people at my work keep saying 'Oh I had that' or 'My friend had that'... one guy at my work had double Pneumonia in both lungs at the same time!!! He is fine now.
i also had it when i was 2 years old and my brother who was a few months old at time was in hospital with me. We both made a full recovery and with no side effects (well Im normal, cant be too sure about brother)
Hi Rubyrose - Call in the angels to surround and heal her and sit quietly and send your love and healing thoughts to her, she will definitely feel your presence even if you are not there physically. I wish her a speedy recovery. Amara xx
Rosie- I'll be on Messenger later if you need a chat

Lotsa love

Ruby, hope you're sis will be ok, i am and was 5 recovering from a heart op at the same time!
Best wishes to your sister for a speedy recovery, Ruby.

I think all wards adopt the washing of hands before entering, as a precaution. She is in the best place and you have just got to accept that painful as it may be for you (not to see her) it is for the best.

Easy to say, but try not to worry. xxxxxxx
