after i read the question below it got me thinking, what is a fairy tale, they all seem to be written in the same era. In many years to come what story now would be classed as a fairy tale if any?
Fascinating question! I think most classic fairy tales started out as popular folk tales and were then 'collected' into books by the Grimms. Perrault etc. I guess there have been many attempts to emulate the genre - Michael Ende's The Neverending Story springs to mind.
once upon a time there lived two little poppets who were very rich and famous all over the world. They married in a catle and lived in a palace. They had 3 children, Brooklyn, Romeo and Cruz....
God only knows 4getmenot - but think of all the political correctness and health and safety measures that would be involved. My 'Emormous Turnip' favourite world be slaughtered by Equal Opportunities and the like and no one could even touch the vegetable without first carrying out a risk assessment, having a relevant manual handling certificate AND wearing the correct back braces, hard hats, goggles etc etc !
