Banning questions

Just a thought but how do questions get banned or removed? do people push the report an answer/question? or do they check them? if you do report an answer does the author know?

I have reported a thread (question) and a post (answer) today by emailing the ed from the 'contact us' option in 'my profile'.

the person who has submitted the thread or post will not know it has been reported unless the reporter tells them, but usually the person submitting the thread or post will have a darned good idea it is a likely candidate.
